The Noisefighters Panobridge MK2 offers the user the unique ability to adjust the goggle’s field of view from 40 to 75 degrees by panning each monocular outward, creating a panoramic view. The optical pod attachment arms of the Panobridge are able to articulate up and down much like articulating dual tube devices. All while being only 1.5oz. In comparison it’s roughly 1/2oz less than a standard J-Arm.
The AFOV (Adjustable Field of View) mechanism allows for a user defined panoramic effect. Being able to use your devices as a conventional binocular system or selectively panning out each monocular to tune your desired panoramic field of view.
The choice of a using high performance Arkema® polymer was done so with consideration. Not only does this lend itself to being a nearly indestructible bridge mount, but also the lightest bino bridge currently on the market. As such, the Panobridge has a no-questions-asked, transferable lifetime warranty.
Aside from the panoramic feature, the Panobridge offers a healthy range of articulation. Users may swing each monocular up or down individually (in effect - optical pod); akin to articulating housings on the market. This allows for simultaneous use with a handheld thermal scanner as well as a more beneficial center of gravity when stowed.
What is different on the MK2?
A very subtle difference is the change in dovetail dimensions to allow for improved lockup among a wider variety of dovetail mounts. A more noticeable update is the integrated tether point at the rear of the bridge; a collaborated improvement between us and Noisefighters. While we absolutely loved the first iteration of the Panobridge from Noisefighters, we wanted to see a dedicated tether point offered on the Panobridge. We approached Noisefighters with this concept and got to work to achieve it. Tethering your device with some type of lanyard is important. The addition of this dedicated tether point allows the end user to attach a lanyard to the system without affecting or imparting force onto the arms. While a mount failing isn't overly common, this doesn't mean you shouldn't plan for it or have a redundancy. Dovetail interfaces are very reliable, though should your mount fail or an inadvertent circumstance occur, you'll be thankful to have tethered your device. Those of you who ride will understand this expression; dress for the slide not the ride.
